NORWELL. crowd. (UPI) -- A pair of teenage siblings in Norwell. Mass.,founded a charity that has provided $1.4 million worth of telecommunicate callsfor U. S soldiers in Iraq. Brittany and Robbie Bergquist said they founded Cell Phones forSoldiers which collects donations of old cell phones and sells themto buy phone cards for soldiers serving in Iraq after hearing thestory of a U. S. Army reservist who paid a $7,600 account for phone callshe made to his family from Iraq. USA Today reported Tuesday. The teens started their effort three years ago with a car wash andhave expanded the operation into a charity that collects old inactivephones and sells them for $5 apiece to recyclers. The money is used tobuy prepaid phone cards that are sent to the soldiers."Everyone has a right to call home," said Brittany Bergquist. 16 whostarted the affiliate with 15-year-old Robbie."We take for granted our ability to call home and communicate to ourfamilies," she said. I doubt that old cell phones undergo to go somewhere. What better create then to this one?I say more (cell power) to them. Though it would been nice if they included a link too there in how to arrive them. Would be nice to back up furnish more to the cause. And not just for only those in Iraq but everywhere are solders are stationed... ;-)
