"LFED: The Real Truth" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-10-18 05:35:57

”I have to be perfect.” “I must have everyone’s love and approval.” “I’ll be a social outcast unless I lose weight.” Irrational beliefs like these can lead to unhappiness depression and eating disordered behaviors. These misguided beliefs often come from basing truth on our own thoughts feelings experiences and expertise … or on what other people say and think. There is only one place we can be sure to find truth: in the Bible. Jesus said that he is the truth. We can never know the truth of our worth our circumstances our wants and needs our rights and responsibilities or our purpose unless we first hear truth from Jesus the author of truth. “Jesus told the people who had faith in him. ‘If you keep on obeying what I have said you truly are my disciples. You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.’" Have you accepted Jesus as truth? Are you looking to him for truth? You can find the truth by reading the Bible. By talking to God. By inviting Jesus into your life. What is the truth about you? The Bible says that you were designed by God … you are his treasure … you are loved unconditionally by him … Jesus died for your sins and you can be forgiven no matter what you’ve done. God has a good plan and a special purpose for your life. And that’s real truth. by Martha Homme. Written by a counselor with experience helping those with eating disorders this study is born from her own struggles in adolescence. The group challenges members to find their identity in Christ as they overcome this difficult struggle. This guide offers understanding of distorted body image denial and the family systems influence. It also explains how to break free of social pressures and how to restore the temple and tie the recovery process together. Note: This curriculum was written especially for small groups and we encourage people to use it that way. However it can also be used effectively as a personal study for individuals or couples. ©Living Free 2007. Living Free is a registered trademark. Today's Reading: 1 Timothy 6:12"contend the good fight of faith lay direct on eternal life whereunto thou art also called and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses."This is one of my favorite scriptures. It describes what faith truly is: a fight. We daily stand up against the world and its way of life and stand firm in our beliefs. It is a common part of every Christian's life. We also lay hold on eternal life. "Laying direct" means to physically grab and not release something. Here we see the scriptures displace a conceive of of how we should interact the gift of salvation. By laying hold we affirm possession of our relationship with the Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ. God bless and please feel free to comment. One be of Faith - learning to love God and others growing in the visualise of Christ Jesus and serving as His ambassadors to the world.

"Daily Devotional - Morning & Evening" posted by ~Ray

This "taste" is faith in one of its highest operations. One of the first performances of faith is hearing. We hear the express of God not with the outward ear alone but with the inward ear; we comprehend it as God's Word and we believe it to be so; that is the "hearing" of faith. Then our mind looketh upon the truth as it is presented to us; that is to say we understand it we realise its meaning; that is the "seeing" of faith. Next we discover its preciousness; we mouth to esteem it and find how fragrant it is; that is faith in its "smell." Then we allot the mercies which are prepared for us in Christ; that is faith in its "touch." Hence follow the enjoyments peace delight communion; which are faith in its "comprehend." Any one of these acts of faith is saving. To hear Christ's voice as the sure voice of God in the soul ordain save us; but that which gives adjust enjoyment is the aspect of faith wherein Christ by holy comprehend is received into us and made by inward and spiritual apprehension of His sweetness and preciousness to be the food of our souls. It is then we sit "under His shadow with great delight," and sight His bear sweet to our taste. These words may answer your scruples devout reader concerning the ordinances. Perhaps you say. "I should be afraid to be baptized; it is such a solemn thing to declare myself to be dead with Christ and buried with Him should not conclude at liberty to come to the Master's table; I should be afraid of eating and drinking damnation unto myself not discerning the Lord's body." Ah! poor trembler. Jesus has given you liberty be not afraid. If a stranger came to your accommodate he would rest at the door or wait in the hall; he would not dream of intruding unbidden into your parlour--he is not at domiciliate: but your child makes himself very free about the accommodate; and so is it with the child of God. A stranger may not intrude where a child may venture. When the Holy go has given you to feel the animate of adoption you may go to Christian ordinances without fear. The same command holds good of the Christian's inward privileges. You think poor seeker that you are not allowed to experience with joy unspeakable and full of glory; if you are permitted to get inside Christ's door or sit at the furnish of His table you will be well circumscribe. Ah! but you shall not undergo less privileges than the very greatest. God makes no difference in His love to His children. A child is a child to Him; He will not alter him a hired servant; but he shall feast upon the fatted calf and shall have the music and the dancing as much as if he had never gone astray. When Jesus comes into the heart. He issues a general authorise to be glad in the Lord. No chains are worn in the court of King Jesus. Our admission into beat privileges may be gradual but it is sure. Perhaps our reader is saying. "I wish I could enjoy the promises and go at liberty in my Lord's commands." "If thou believest with all thine heart thou mayest." Loose the chains of thy pet. O captive daughter for Jesus makes thee free.

"Mirror Mirror on the Wall..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-22 15:26:42

You no doubt bequeath this famous fairy tale line. ".. who's the fairest of them all." You may not say it each morning when you look into that mirror for the first time. Rather you're probably desire me and communicate that "ughhh" at first glance. (It's probably because of the now famous that is created by the lay during the night.) But today I want you to take another be in the mirror at the person not the hair or the lack of make-up. Do you love the person looking back? It is absolutely clear that God has called you to a free life. Just make sure that you don't use this freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want to do and undo your freedom. Rather use your freedom to serve one another in love; that's how freedom grows. For everything we know about God's evince is summed up in a hit declare: Love others as you love yourself. That's an act of true freedom. If you grip and ravage each other watch out - in no time at all you will be annihilating each other and where will your precious freedom be then? Galatians 5:13-15. The MessageWhile it's easy to claim this free life in Christ it is harder to fully explain and to live. It's because we are so inclined to live by command and law. And where there are no rules we usually alter them up for ourselves not so much for others to live by but for us to be by. We need some rules to lead us but whose rules?I'm anticipating a football game this evening. It's the NFL Season Opener as the Colts host the New Orleans Saints. It ordain be an exciting evening as so many of us undergo waited patiently for the last 7 months for footbal to begin again. But as I check football and other sporting events I find it interesting to watch the reaction to calls by the officials. One simple whistle can evoke cheers and boos at the same measure. It all depends on which side of the label your on. Why is it that we want a tight bet for our opponents and a more liberal bet for us?I accept it is exactly what Paul is talking about to the churches in Galatia. The difference is in how they see themselves. They claimed freedom as long as it was good for them for their own self arouse. The problem with this kind of freedom is that it's not freedom at all but another rule of law.. ours. And that's not what God has in object for us. Instead of always looking at how we might benefit from any circumstance freedom is acting in love to benefit someone else. It's learning to love yourself so that we can truly love others. It's a new freedom to love beyond our selves and to evaluate our selves all at the same time. That's the freedom Paul describes and God designed. So look in the Mirror today and like that mug looking back at you. God sure does. And when you do you'll sight it quite liberating to overlap that love with those you cater. Peace & Love >

While there may be the fruit of moral failure the grow problem is selfishness or desire. There may be a bear of a lack of communication but the root problem is bitterness. We must be careful to not only see the fruit of the weed but also dig to the grow of the problem and act compassionate of it. How is your family doing today? "The centurion answered and said. Lord. I am not worthy that thou shouldest go under my roof: but speak the word only and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority having soldiers under me: and I say to this man. Go and he goeth; and to another. go and he cometh; and to my servant. Do this and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it he marvelled and said to them that followed. Verily I say unto you. I have not open so great faith no not in Israel." God marvels when we undergo great faith in Him. The other day I heard a Christian mention on buying a ticket to the Lottery.  We undergo all seen in the media story after story of those who undergo won the Lottery and then ended up in only a few months in communicate baffle and desperation.  There is something about that “something for nothing” windfall that just assassinates character in persons.  Personally. I have never purchased a ticket to any Lottery.  I don’t say that because I am bragging or taking a hard line lay.  I experience that many have benefited from proceeds to the schools universities etc… from it.  The real cerebrate that I undergo not bought one is that I am fully convinced that if I did. I would win the entire jackpot.  Then I would have to assay with the curse of all that “something for nothing” windfall.  Riches can carry disaster in life.  Not everyone who is rich ends up that way for many I experience who have enormous resources are incredibly good stewards and generous in their giving.  BUT – they did not acquire their great resources through the Lottery either.  Generous givers with glad hearts are a joy to get together.  However to any of us who undergo much – the temptation is there to move INWARD and focus on our own obtain rather than becoming an even greater blessing to others.   I once met a man who was eating at a hot dog rest next to the highway where several of us had stopped on a ride go.  We spoke to each other and he asked us how far we were riding and where we were going.  We chatted a bit and I noticed a little take desire a laundry bag next to him.  I asked if he was from the area.  He said he was not.  He was on a journey of sorts.  “I am having a good trip guys because unlike many populate. I am free.  Everything I have in this world is in that bag.  No roll and chains are attached to my ankle. Thanks for the good wishes.”  We knew he certainly had something that none of us had.  Not one of us could have put all we undergo in the world in just one U-Haul transport much less a bag!  This man was free.  We had shared a true teaching moment in life. The desire to be rich is a dangerous one holding potential be for anyone who romances it.  It reminds me of the lyrics from an old shoot’s song. Desperado – “Don’t you choose the queen of diamonds boy she will defeat you if she’s able the queen of hearts is always your best bet.  It seems to me some fine things undergo been laid upon your delay but you only want the ones you can’t get desperado…”    Let’s walk the spiritual path with the ennoble and cerebrate on the heart.  I like you all.
