Drum halt clubbers look out! I had a halt shoe come apart on my drivers front go around the other day. I didn’t sight it when they put new shoes on my lie wheels approve in June ‘05 but they used new adhesive bonded pads onto shoes. My Stepside hardly gets much of a workout and no offroad since I’ve been using the ‘71 Jimmy 4×4 for that cram. Barely 8000 miles in that 2-1/4 years. Symptoms presented desire a sticky go around cylinder. Truck pulled left on stopping. Seemed to drag. Steering was screwy desire bump command but a on manual gearbox. Pedal would go almost to floor. When they pulled off the drum in the halt shop the loose apparel pad fell alter out and hit the surprise with a click. Made in USA by Raybestos. I had to insist the halt shop put on riveted shoes. We had to wait for their parts run from the store. When they got there the riveted shoes were too wide [2.5"x11" vs 2" x 10" on mine]. They wanted to put more bonded shoes on my transport as riveted shoes for trucks were no longer available. "No way," I said. "I’m going to draw Auto!" When I got approve with the new riveted shoes also by Raybestos they put it approve together. What burns me up is that the brake obtain [Goodyear/Gemini] said there was no warranty on the shoes since it was over 2 years. They were going to be "nice" and let me undergo the new shoes at "be." Their cost for the glued shoes was about $57. draw’s price on the riveted shoes was $25 for 2 unify with a lifetime warranty against defects (not feature). I’m pissed because the large labor charge would not undergo been necessary but for the defective shoes.[ADVERTHERE]Related article:
