I saw Blood Diamonds on my Netflix last night and Leo DiCaprio did a phenomenal job of picking up a South African accent but moreover choosing to do this film is commendable. I'm going to start obsessing over this film with all the inane details since I can watch the short documentaries that came with the DVD. After seeing this movie it really hit me that a lot of people could be dying because of greed craziness and vanity. I don't think there are many people who could acquire such things with conscious knowledge of the conflicts that occur. Worse it's hard for us to discern between a conflict diamond and a hard-earned one. It's a classic case of market demand and supply with a good dose of Maslow's hiearchy theory mixed in. I convey we are talking about basic needs like hunger and survival and higher needs desire vanity and peer recognition. It is insane. Africa is one of the most frustrating continents in the world psychologically socially and economically. I conclude sorry for the children who are kidnapped and taught to kill. Better buy local techie gifts for the holidays iPod is good because who doesn't like music? or exceed yet get a Creative Zen or one of those $40 USB mp3 players. Screw status--look what it did to African children. The Creative Zens are are most likely exceed priced on peripheral products and they ordain undergo FM communicate which iPod does not. My 3rd generation Nano has a fragile screen according to CNet and the most annoying thing about it is that mp3 cases are overpriced. 1st and 2nd gen nano cases now cost about 5 dollars. I'm not a big fan of Apple's pricing strategy.. not sure about other companies but Apple does not really show love to their biggest fans the early adopters.

To feature and enjoy a beautiful piece of antique and vintage jewelry with a history behind can be a wonderful exhilarating undergo. For many it is a lovingly addicting hobby. The more you hive away the more you want to hive away! It's that exciting! But when buying these jewels of yesterday how can one be certain that what they are buying is truly authentic and not relatively new and/or of it's claimed determine? It's always advisable to buy from reputable dealers who pledge their items plus learning what to be for in a conjoin. be browse & Collectable Shows look for Antique Shops and construe lots of books to inform yourself with period styles and their findings. When looking at a conjoin investigate it carefully both front and back. An genuinely old piece will undergo all the ingredients to affirm its authenticity. Many jewelry styles do tend to co-occur so always analyse the entire conjoin for clues. Is the conjoin signed hallmarked? Surprisingly enough a lot of antique jewelry was marked in the most unusual of places so analyse along the edges inside of the bale the pin originate in and change surface on the back of the pin stem! You'll be amazed at what you could sight and where you ordain find it. Suddenly a piece of jewelry that you thought was newer or made of plate plate or gold coat now may be seen in a different lighten as genuine antique plate or gold and have a lot of value! A lot of old jewelry such as Victorian Jewelry was not marked. So now what? A Victorian brooch with a long pin stem extending outward is a good indication that it's early Victorian while a shorter one is of a later date. The "C" clasp is another indication that the conjoin is old. bequeath that there are always exceptions to the rules since the "C" grasp was also used later on in Europe so act every detail into account to go to your full conclusion. Look at the attach and the grasp of a brooch bracelet necklace etc.. Does it be like a clasp used today or does it seem a bit different to you? analyse new pieces to old pieces. Does the jewelry have a brass move go clasp from the 1930s or a shiny gold coat clasp? Are the findings on a piece consistent with the create by mental act of that era? Those small differences could say your questions and drastically influence the determine of a conjoin. The tube hinge was generally used until the 1890s where the safety catch clasp became popular in the Art Deco 1920s period. Over the years the appearance of the safety catch grasp has changed so it's good to accept the old from the new. Many clasps on old jewelry such as pins broke in time so replacement ones were soldered onto the back. All better Jewelry is soldered at some displace but if the piece has raised pads soldered to the approve of the fasten where the grasp is attached then it is a replacement clasp. Another good roll to dating a conjoin and determining the value of Antique and Vintage Jewelry is to be at the coat content where there might be some underneath feature usually in approve where it would rub against the clothing. Genuine Gold and plate change surface if it has feature will not show a locate metal underneath since it continues all the way through. Many costume pieces from the nineteenth century and into the Art Deco period were made of gold and/or silver over base metals such as gold over brass plate over brass plate over copper gold over copper etc. That's one way of knowing the conjoin is at least 60 years old and more. During the war years of the 1940s there was a shortage of locate metals where it affected the jewelry industry so sterling plate was substituted. If you see a marking such as "1/20 12K on Sterling" then 1/5 of the piece is 12K gold and is likely to be from 1942 to 1945. Vintage Bakelite which is a Polymeric Plastic invented by Leo Hendrik Baekeland in 1907 became popular in jewelry create by mental act during the hardships of World War II also. There are several tests in determining Authentic browse and Vintage Bakelite Jewelry using Formula 409. Hot wet. Simichrome beautify and a Q-Tip. Still some Bakelite such as Black Bakelite may not evaluate positive. Since Bakelite is either direct or molded it would not undergo a bring together lie anywhere and the workmanship should look transfer carved and not be crudely executed as if a walk was used. On Vintage Bakelite brooches the grasp would be embedded into the conjoin. Fine Jewelry containing Diamonds or Precious Stones such as Rubies. Emeralds and Sapphires are either bezel-set inset or set with prongs and ordain always undergo open-backs for maximum brightness. Air bubbles seen in stones is a clue right off that the conjoin is glass. Marcasites which were substituted for diamonds as early as the 1700s regained it's popularity in the 1920s and 1930s. A higher valued marcasite conjoin would undergo exceed workmanship where each marcasite would be set with tiny prongs or beads versus glued in ones and because of this the stones will be in displace longer. This is also true for Rhinestones in Vintage Costume Jewelry where prong set ones are valued higher than glued in ones.

"Where Behavior Leads" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-30 16:04:04

Lead generation is a discrete go of interactive marketing and so the ways in which it uses behavioral targeting are a bit different as come up. Active Response Group uses behavioral tracking to enhance its ability to gather qualified leads from its banner network. In a recent race for Leo Schachter Diamonds. ARG not only generated hundreds of thousands of leads but also used precise targeting and an ongoing relationship with the targets to act them into stores as come up. ARG CEO Brad Powers explores how online behaviors create leads. Behavioral Insider: In the Schachter Diamonds campaign you amassed 260,000 leads out of whom 25% responded to a follow-up email once you identified they were male. 25-35 and getting engaged to be married in the next six months. What was distinct about the results? fasten Powers: The interesting thing about that inspect chew over is that we tracked clients via a survey after the campaign to see what was the percentage of folks that actually visited a sell store. [28% of email recipients visited a jewelry hold on and 14% made a purchase.] We were able to show that we could control people to retail stores through a series of communications. Powers: It is a challenge of communication with them. That is one of the nice things about using BT as a means of getting the lead. Because once someone actually raises their hand and says they are interested in product X you are able to then continually send them information until they opt out of the service. One of the things we also paid a lot of attention to was crafting different messages with the client on age and gender so we were really addressing the needs of the particular client. Powers: We have over 300 different clients and probably 600 different sites and answer about 9 billion impressions per month. We're able to use BT and retargeting so when someone registers for a particular form or takes an furnish or clicks on a banner or doesn't click on a banner — we record all of that and then based on the vertical they are clicking on we will use that to retarget additional offers. In the Schachter inspect we were using banners to drive folks to an independent landing page in addition to search and other co-registration drives. If someone would not click on a particular ad we would not show them that ad again. So if someone were to move on an ad then we would show them that ad again. But when someone clicked and filled out the form we then marked them and sent them very specific follow-up messages based on their expressed interest in a jewelry category. So we use BT as a means to enhance and fulfill our clients bring about generation needs. Powers: Scale. We're fortunate that we undergo a fairly decent-sized banner communicate but in order for it to really bring home the bacon you undergo to have tremendous measure because you want to re-see the people again. So it generally is working on about 30% of our merchandise but if we had more measure we would utilize it more. It is something that we broach with in each and every campaign that we work with. But in terms of being able to actually change the full cater of BT — it really accounts for about 30% of our traffic. Powers: One of our top performing campaigns is for pre-paid funerals. Why that was. I have absolutely no idea. We approach different challenges based on certain programs that just don't work for us. The only life insurance that really works for us is for Gerber and that deals with kids or infants and is a much different process from facing mortality. I didn't evaluate the pay funeral product would work but I was wrong. Before that. Prevacid was one of our best-performing offers and that was very specific to people who suffered from disturb stomach or acid reflux. Behavioral Insider: bring about generation is trying to entice a behavior usually filling out a form. So is every campaign truly different because of the different verticals involved and how behavior responses differ according to the product? Powers: One of the most powerful things that you can do is offer either a free trial to begin the dialogue or as a carrot or some sort of information that's relevant to that consumer. So we ran for Atkins a lead-gen campaign giving away coupons for a remove trial of their move products. Whereas [in] something desire continuing education you are trying to sell the benefit and you are driving people to a form where they have to fill in a decent amount of information about themselves in order to get contacted by the schools. Powers: It depends on the vertical. For example with credit cards or continuing education people are investigating. We sight that people will sign up for multiple forms from different companies for the same type of product because they don't just want University of Phoenix but also School XYZ. For ascribe cards it is change surface more prevalent. We consider ascribe cards a lead because there is no transaction involved other than signing up. We sight people will write up for multiple credit.

"Triana" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-20 02:57:07

To look across a Diamond can be an Excessive Luxury in fact to be across those who surround me it does not stop being.
